Tragedy Strikes Kano Assembly: Two Lawmakers Die Hours Apart

The Kano State House of Assembly was plunged into mourning following the tragic and sudden deaths of two of its sitting members, Hon. Aminu Saad Ungogo and Hon. Sarki Aliyu Daneji, both of whom passed away on Wednesday within a short interval of each other. Their near-simultaneous demise sent shockwaves across the state, impacting politicians and residents alike, especially considering the active roles both lawmakers played within the Assembly.

Hon. Aminu Saad Ungogo, who represented the Ungogo Constituency, was the first whose death was publicly announced. Ibrahim Adam, the Special Adviser on Information to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, conveyed the sad news via his verified Facebook page, stating, "May Allah forgive Hon. Aminu Saad Ungogo, State Assembly Member representing Ungogo Constituency of Kano State."

Barely an hour after the announcement of Ungogo's passing, the Kano State Government House confirmed the death of Hon. Sarki Aliyu Daneji, the representative for the Kano Municipal Constituency. Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the Director of Media and Spokesperson to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, shared the confirmation on his official Facebook page, writing, "Innalillahi Wa Inna Ilaihirrajiun. Hon. Sarki Aliyu Daneji, member representing Kano Municipal at Kano State House of Assembly died today an hour after the death of his counterpart."

As of press time, specific details surrounding the circumstances or causes of their deaths remained sketchy, leaving many questions unanswered about the dual tragedy that befell the Kano State legislative body.
