Tom Cruise and Anne Hathaway Rev Up for Explosive 'Days of Thunder' Sequel!

Paramount Pictures has officially announced the highly anticipated sequel to the 1990 racing drama, “Days of Thunder,” with stars Tom Cruise and Anne Hathaway confirmed to lead the cast. The feature film follow-up is slated for release on June 2, 2028, nearly four decades after the original Tony Scott-directed movie first premiered. This new chapter marks a significant return to one of Cruise's iconic roles, promising a high-octane cinematic experience for audiences worldwide.

Tom Cruise is set to reprise his iconic role as the spirited NASCAR driver, Cole Trickle, who was first introduced as a hotshot dirt track racer recruited into the world of professional stock car racing. Anne Hathaway joins the cast in a pivotal new role, portraying a racecar team owner and engineer, adding a fresh dynamic to the high-stakes world of motorsports. Jonathan Levine, known for films like “Long Shot,” is confirmed to direct the sequel, working from a script penned by Will Staples (“Without Remorse”). Cruise will also serve as a producer alongside Jerry Bruckheimer and Tommy Harper. The production is being specifically shot for IMAX screens and is planned for an exclusive theatrical release, supporting premium formats including Dolby Cinema and 4DX.
