Tacha's Epic Guinness Record Shatters Expectations with 144 Faces in 24 Hours!

On October 11, 2025, in Lagos, Nigeria, Anita Natacha Akide, widely known as Tacha, made history by achieving two new Guinness World Record titles for cosmetic makeovers. In an impressive feat of endurance and skill, Tacha spent a full 24-hour stretch, meticulously transforming faces, ultimately completing 144 makeovers.
Her remarkable achievement began by setting the record for the most cosmetic makeovers in just 8 hours, during which she completed 82 transformations. She then continued her work, culminating in 144 makeovers within 24 hours, significantly surpassing the previous record by more than 30 individuals. Each individual makeover was comprehensive, including foundation, concealer, blush, two eyeshadows, mascara, lip liner and gloss, finishing powder, and perfectly shaped eyebrows.
Tacha vividly recalled the moment she received confirmation of her new records, describing an overwhelming wave of emotion. She shared with Guinness World Records, "I screamed, cried, hugged my sister and assistants. We were all overwhelmed. It felt like the whole of Nigeria was celebrating with me. Seeing the comments online, the love, the excitement, it felt like every person who had ever believed in me was standing right there."
For Tacha, makeup has always been more than just an aesthetic pursuit; it has been a fundamental means of self-expression and a personal sanctuary. Her fascination with colors and beauty dates back to her childhood, where she would experiment with mascara, eyeliners, and lip gloss, often against her devout church-worker mother's wishes. Despite her mother throwing her products away, Tacha's persistence saw her save up to buy them again, a testament to her enduring passion.
This unwavering love and resilience were instrumental in her record-breaking success. Tacha emphasized that her achievement was born from a spirit of resilience and courage. She stated, "I wanted to show that Nigerian women can achieve anything they put their minds to, that creativity is powerful, and that African women deserve global recognition."
Tacha views her record not merely as a personal triumph but as a collective victory. She believes it represents every girl who has dared to start anew, every creative who has faced doubt, every individual who refused to give up, and every dreamer who holds faith in the possibility of greatness emerging from anywhere. "I want my story to remind the world that greatness has no geography, and that Africa’s creative power deserves to be seen, celebrated, and remembered," she concluded, inspiring countless others with her extraordinary journey.
