Startup Zepto's Bold Government Pact: 10,000 New Jobs on the Horizon!

The Ministry of Labour and Employment has officially signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Zepto, a prominent quick commerce company. This strategic partnership, finalized on September 24, 2025, in New Delhi in the presence of Union Minister for Labour & Employment Mansukh Mandaviya, is designed to significantly enhance employment opportunities and improve youth employability through the National Career Service (NCS) portal.
Under the terms of this agreement, Zepto is committed to adding 10,000 job postings to the NCS portal. These new positions are anticipated to create a stable and structured pipeline of urban employment options, particularly benefiting youth, women, and individuals seeking their first job opportunities. This collaboration is viewed as a vital step in opening new avenues for young job seekers, while simultaneously enabling Zepto to access a suitable and diverse talent pool.
Kaivalya Vohra, co-founder of Zepto, expressed his optimism regarding the initiative, stating, "By connecting with NCS, we aim to provide thousands of gig and full-time opportunities, helping to empower India’s youth and contribute to the nation’s economic growth." This underscores the potential for a substantial impact on both individual livelihoods and the broader economy.
This new partnership with Zepto forms part of a more extensive governmental drive aimed at bolstering employment opportunities for India's youth. Over the past year, the NCS portal has considerably expanded its reach by establishing similar MoUs with other major organizations, including Amazon, Swiggy, Rapido, and Quikr Jobs. These previous collaborations have already contributed approximately five lakh additional vacancies to the portal, demonstrating the initiative's effectiveness.
Union Minister Mandaviya highlighted the NCS platform's crucial role, describing it as a unique bridge connecting employers and job-seekers. Since its inception, the platform has registered over 52 lakh employers and facilitated nearly 7.5 crore job postings. Vandana Gurnani, secretary at the Labour and Employment Ministry, further elaborated on the NCS platform's comprehensive services, which include job-matching, career counselling, and skill development facilities. Gurnani also emphasized that the MoU with Zepto would provide further impetus to enhancing formalisation and social security coverage within the employment sector.
