Snoop Dogg Drops Bombshell at Verzuz Relaunch in Vegas, Igniting No Limit-Cash Money Battle

Veteran hip-hop star Snoop Dogg made a celebrated surprise appearance on Saturday, October 25, to support his former record label, No Limit Records, during its highly anticipated Verzuz battle against Cash Money Records. The event, held at ComplexCon in Las Vegas, saw Snoop Dogg electrify the crowd at the Las Vegas Convention Center with a performance of C-Murder’s classic “Down 4 My N****z.” His unexpected presence sent fans into a frenzy, highlighting the deep-rooted camaraderie within the hip-hop community.
Snoop Dogg's connection to No Limit Records dates back to 1998 when he joined Master P's label after departing from Death Row Records. During his tenure, he released three significant albums: “No Limit: Da Game Is to Be Sold, Not to Be Told” (1998), “No Limit Top Dogg” (1999), and “Tha Last Meal” (2000), solidifying his impact on the label's legacy. His return to the stage alongside his former crew underscored the lasting influence of that era in his career.
The Verzuz showdown itself was a grand celebration of two of Louisiana’s most iconic rap labels. No Limit Records was represented by its founder Master P, alongside Mia X and Silk the Shocker, presenting a formidable lineup. Cash Money Records countered with its own heavy hitters, including Juvenile, B.G., Mannie Fresh, and Birdman. Attendees were treated to a memorable night of legendary tracks, with performances of songs like “400 Degreez,” “I’m Still Fly,” “Bling Bling,” “Break Em Off Something,” “How U Do That There,” “Slow Motion,” “Project Chick,” “Bout It Bout It,” “Real Big,” and “Make Em Say Unh,” as reported by Complex.
This star-studded event also marked the official relaunch of the Verzuz music battle series, following an early October announcement of a partnership between Complex and Verzuz at ComplexCon. Co-founders Swizz Beatz and Timbaland expressed their enthusiasm for getting “to the action” rather than just talking. Verzuz was originally launched in March 2020 by Timbaland and Swizz Beatz as a creative outlet during the initial phase of the COVID-19 pandemic. Although the platform was sold to Triller Network in March 2021, it had remained largely dormant for nearly three years prior to its resurgence at ComplexCon. Previous battles before this major relaunch included notable matchups such as Cypress Hill vs. Onyx, 8Ball & MJG vs. UGK, Omarion vs. Mario, and Luny Tunes vs. DJ Nelson, showcasing its history of bringing iconic artists together.
