The murder case surrounding the fatal shooting of Kasipul Member of Parliament, Charles Ong’ondo Were, has officially commenced at the Kibera Law Courts in Nairobi. The MP was reportedly shot after allegedly being trailed by his attackers, an incident that sparked widespread concern.
During the hearing, Senior Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions Gikui Gichuhi informed the court of the prosecution's readiness to pursue its case against five individuals charged in connection with the killing. Gichuhi revealed a serious allegation, stating that MP Were’s demise was the outcome of a "carefully orchestrated conspiracy."
Adding a startling dimension to the case, the prosecution indicated that the alleged conspirators include the MP’s own bodyguard. This detail underscores the complex nature of the investigation and the grave charges laid against those implicated in the high-profile murder of the Kasipul legislator.
