Shockwave in Premier League: Bernardo Silva Confirms Man City Exit
Bernardo Silva has officially announced his departure from Manchester City this summer, bringing an end to his illustrious nine-year tenure at the Etihad Stadium. The Portuguese midfielder, whose contract is set to expire in June, conveyed his decision in an emotional Instagram post on Thursday, confirming he will be moving on from the club where he has achieved significant success.
In his heartfelt message, the 31-year-old reflected on his time at City, stating he arrived following a childhood dream to achieve great things. He emphasized that the club and city provided him with "much more than that," highlighting the cherished legacy of their collective victories and accomplishments. Silva also noted the personal significance of Manchester, as it is where he started his marriage and family, and expressed profound gratitude for the "unconditional support" of the fans, declaring he will leave as a "Man City supporter for life."
Silva extended his thanks to the club, manager Pep Guardiola, the staff, and all his teammates for the memories and for allowing him to be part of their journey for so long. While his next career move remains undisclosed, the talented midfielder has been linked with various destinations, including a potential return to his boyhood club Benfica, as well as moves to Spain, Saudi Arabia, and Major League Soccer.
