Shocking Allegations: 'Trailer Park Boys' Star Mike Smith Faces Sexual Assault Charges!

Mike Smith, widely recognized for his portrayal of Bubbles in the critically acclaimed Canadian comedy series “Trailer Park Boys,” has been formally charged with sexual assault. The charges, as reported by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), were filed on October 2 in Nova Scotia provincial court. These legal proceedings stem from an alleged assault that reportedly occurred on December 30, 2017, in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

In response to the serious allegations, representatives for Smith, including his lawyer, have not yet provided any immediate comment when approached by Variety. Trailer Park Boys Inc., the production banner responsible for the series, acknowledged the situation in a statement to the CBC. The company confirmed that it is “aware of the allegation concerning Mike Smith” and stated that Smith has since “stepped away” from his executive role as the company’s managing director. Emphasizing respect for the ongoing legal process, Trailer Park Boys Inc. indicated that it would not be issuing further comments on the case at this time, acknowledging the sensitive nature of such allegations for all parties involved.

Smith forms one-third of the central comedic trio of “Trailer Park Boys,” alongside John Paul Tremblay, who plays Julian, and Robb Wells, who portrays Ricky. The mockumentary-style comedy series initially premiered in 2001 on the Canadian television network Showcase. Its popularity grew significantly, leading to its acquisition by Netflix in 2014, expanding its global reach. Over its run, the series has produced 116 episodes and has also spawned several successful films and spin-off series, chronicling the misadventures of its three trouble-making protagonists in a fictional trailer park.

Recently, the 13th season of “Trailer Park Boys” concluded production in August. This upcoming season is slated for an April 2026 debut, coinciding with the show’s 25th anniversary. It will be available for streaming exclusively on the newly launched TPB+ streaming service, offering dedicated content for its fanbase.
