Bethenny Frankel, the 55-year-old Real Housewives alum, recently disclosed what she claims was Meghan Markle’s ex-husband Trevor Engelson’s reaction when he discovered she was dating Prince Harry. Frankel, who briefly dated Engelson in 2016 – the same year Meghan was first linked to Harry – recounted their conversation on a recent episode of “The Toast” podcast with Claudia Oshry.

Frankel recalled Engelson initially mentioning that his ex was “a woman from a show called Suits,” a show and person she didn’t know at the time. Months later, upon seeing images indicating Harry was dating someone, Bethenny texted Engelson to inquire, “Is this your ex?” He confirmed with “Yup.” The conversation then progressed with Bethenny asking, “Do you think she’s going to close?” To which Engelson reportedly replied, “Oh, she’ll close.” Bethenny further emphasized this response, stating, “I don’t want to get into more about that but he was like, ‘She’ll close.’”

For historical context, Meghan and Trevor Engelson began their relationship in 2004 and subsequently married in Jamaica in August 2011. However, their marriage lasted approximately 18 months, with their divorce being finalized in March 2014, citing irreconcilable differences. Reports from that period suggest Meghan returned her wedding ring to Engelson after the marriage ended. Following her split from Engelson, Meghan dated Canadian chef Cory Vitiello before being introduced to Prince Harry by mutual friend Misha Nonoo in May 2016.
