Royal Family Turmoil: King Charles' Stern Warning to Beatrice and Eugenie Over Andrew Controversy

King Charles has issued a clear directive to his nieces, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, stating they must become financially self-sufficient following their father, Andrew Mountbatten Windsor's, recent scandal. This week, the former Duke of York was officially stripped of all his royal titles due to his controversial associations with the late convicted paedophile, Jeffrey Epstein, according to royal author Robert Jobson.
Since ascending to the throne in 2022, King Charles has been actively implementing changes aimed at modernizing the monarchy and ensuring its longevity for future generations. A key aspect of this transformation involves non-working members of the Royal Family, such as Beatrice and Eugenie, bearing their own costs rather than utilizing royal residences as 'subsidised accommodation'. Robert Jobson's book, The Windsor Legacy, reveals the King's profound frustration, confided to friends, that the Palace was being managed 'like a hotel, and not a very good one'.
Insiders confirm that this operational model is set for a significant overhaul. Properties within royal estates will eventually be let at commercial rates, even to individuals outside the family, subject to stringent security vetting. As one insider bluntly put it, 'The King isn’t running a housing association for distant relatives,' underscoring the monarch's resolve for financial prudence within the Firm.
Currently, Princess Beatrice resides in a farmhouse in the Cotswolds with her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, and their children, though she also divides her time with a state-funded flat in St James's Palace in London. Her younger sister, Princess Eugenie, splits her time between Portugal and the UK with her husband, Jack Brooksbank, residing at Ivy Cottage within Kensington Palace grounds when in the UK.
The formal removal of Prince Andrew's royal titles and honours was enacted through a Letters Patent issued by King Charles under the Great Seal of the Realm, subsequently published in The Gazette, the UK's official public record, by the Crown Office.
In a further development, the disgraced royal has consented to vacate Royal Lodge, his residence for 22 years. He is slated to relocate to the King's private Sandringham estate in Norfolk sometime in the new year, commencing what is being termed his 'internal exile'.
This move also impacts his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, who had lived with him at Royal Lodge since 2008. She will now need to independently arrange her living situation after being officially disassociated from the Firm. Ferguson has recently faced considerable public backlash and lost affiliations with multiple charities following the resurfacing of a 2011 email where she referred to Jeffrey Epstein as a 'supreme friend' and appeared to apologize for previous public criticisms of him.
