Adeyemi Denies Fraud Allegations After Presidency Disowns Controversial Council

Adeniyi Adeyemi, who claims to be the Director-General of the alleged Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), has rejected accusations of fraud after the Presidency declared the organisation fictitious.

Speaking in a television interview, Adeyemi insisted his appointment was legitimate and alleged that his dispute with the Presidency stemmed from disagreements over the agency’s proposed take-off funding. He further claimed that senior government officials attempted to interfere with the project, allegations that have not been substantiated by independent evidence.

Adeyemi specifically accused the Chief of Staff to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, of demanding a share of the agency’s proposed take-off grant and collecting money through intermediaries.

He provided no publicly verifiable evidence during the interview to support the allegations, while maintaining that the matter is now before the courts. When questioned about the council’s operations and funding, Adeyemi declined to comment further, citing the ongoing legal proceedings.

The Presidency has firmly rejected Adeyemi’s claims. Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga described the PFIPC as a fictitious organisation and alleged that Adeyemi had falsely represented himself as its director-general.

Onanuga characterised the matter as an alleged case of fraudulent misrepresentation, while Adeyemi has insisted he will rely on the courts to determine the legality of his appointment and respond to the allegations against him.
