Popular Influencer Broda Shaggi Hospitalized After Gunshot Incident During Skit Filming

Broda Shaggy, the renowned Nigerian content creator, influencer, and skit maker whose real name is Samuel Perry, has reportedly been hospitalized after sustaining a gunshot injury. The incident is alleged to have occurred on Sunday while he was filming a skit at the Sango-Ota Bridge in Ogun State. The specific details surrounding the shooting remain unclear, prompting an ongoing investigation by authorities.
Following the incident, Broda Shaggy was rushed to a private hospital in the Alakuko area of Lagos State for initial medical attention. He was later referred to another hospital in Ikeja for further treatment. Reports specify that he was initially taken to Blooming Care Hospital for first aid before being moved to Duchess Hospital, where he is currently recovering from the gunshot wound to his thigh.
The Lagos State Police Command confirmed the incident after being alerted by the hospital. Abimbola Adebisi, the Lagos State police spokesperson, stated that the hospital reported a gunshot victim had been brought to their facility. Upon visiting, detectives and a patrol team identified the victim as Broda Shaggy. While the incident reportedly occurred in Ogun State, placing it outside the immediate jurisdiction of the Lagos command, Lagos officers are coordinating with their counterparts in Ogun State to determine the circumstances of the injury.
Conversely, Omolola Odutola, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, mentioned that the case had not been formally reported to their command, despite the alleged location of the incident. Authorities are continuing to probe the circumstances leading to the shooting and are appealing to anyone with relevant information to come forward to assist with the investigation.
