Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday, often referred to as NBS, recently commented on her defeat in a historic female celebrity boxing match against reality star Josephina Otabor, widely known as Phyna. Despite the loss, NBS took to her Instagram page to assert her status as a champion, claiming that 'even the blind know who the winner is'. She also revealed that she had only two days of training before the fight, crediting her coach for the brief preparation. Emphasizing that she is not a boxer, she declared her intention to return to making movies, stating, "Somebody shout NBS!!!!!!!! That is if you really watch the fight oooo only Two days training ooooo..shout out to my coach @oluwolebolatito35 I love you girl Now let’s go back to making movies cus I no be boxer."
Phyna emerged as the victor in the bout, which was organized by Balmoral Group, securing a decisive knockout victory in the fourth round. This event marked the first female celebrity boxing match staged by the group. Following her win, Phyna expressed her aspirations to pursue professional boxing and issued a challenge to Etinosa for another fight, which Etinosa accepted. Phyna's victory was accompanied by a N50 million prize, in addition to an electric vehicle.
The rivalry between the two entertainers originated in September when Nkechi Blessing criticized Phyna for her frequent online disputes, advising her to adopt a more composed demeanor and self-respect.
