Adeleke Receives Certificate of Return, Unveils ₦500m Osun Election Victims Fund

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has officially received his Certificate of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) following his victory in the governorship election.

The certificate was presented by Professor Kunle Ajayi, an INEC National Commissioner representing the South-West and supervising electoral activities in Ogun, Ondo and Osun States. Speaking after the presentation, Adeleke announced plans to establish a ₦500 million Election Violence Victims Endowment Fund to support families of verified victims of election-related violence across the state.

Adeleke said a Verification and Relief Committee, headed by Osun State House of Assembly Speaker Adewale Olumide Egbedun, would oversee the identification of eligible beneficiaries and distribution of the funds.

He stressed that the initiative was humanitarian rather than political, promising that no victim would be excluded based on political affiliation, religion, ethnicity, gender or social status. Separately, the Adeleke family, through the Springtime Development Foundation, pledged full scholarships through university for children and dependants of people who died during the election-related violence.

The governor thanked Osun residents for participating in the electoral process and declared the political contest concluded, urging citizens to shift their attention towards governance, healing and unity. He assured those who voted for other candidates that his administration would serve the entire state rather than only his supporters.

Adeleke called on residents to place Osun State above political differences as his administration begins its next phase.
