Oasis Reunion Mania: Legal Troubles & Lineup Confirmed!

Andy Bell has officially confirmed his plans to rejoin Oasisfor their highly anticipated reunion tour, set to commence in 2025. Bell, who previously served as Oasis's bassist from 1999 to 2009 and continued with Liam Gallagher's post-Oasis project Beady Eye, is well-suited to navigate the dynamics between Liam and Noel Gallagher. In an interview with Austrian newspaper Oe24, Bell stated, “I’m in and I’m really looking forward to it.” He is expected to be joined by fellow Beady Eye bandmate Gem Archer, Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs on guitar, and drummer Joey Waronkerfor the live performances.
The band has an extensive schedule of 41 dates booked for 2025, kicking off in July across stadiums in the UK and Ireland before expanding to multiple continents. Notable support acts for the tour include Cast, Richard Ashcroft, Cage The Elephant, and Ball Park Music. The Scottish leg of the tour will see Oasis play three sold-out shows at the Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium on August 8, 9, and 12. Tickets for the tour were in exceptionally high demand, with 10 million people from over 100 countries attempting to purchase them, leading to a record-breaking sell-out.

Despite the excitement, the tour has been marred by controversy surrounding ticket sales. The UK competition watchdog, theCompetition and Markets Authority (CMA),has threatened Ticketmaster with legal action over its “misleading” selling methods for the Oasis reunion tour tickets. The CMA's investigation, launched after thousands of fans reported paying significantly inflated prices, revealed concerns that Ticketmaster may have breached consumer protection law. Fans reported paying over £350 for tickets with an initial face value of £150, due to demand-driven price surges without adequate warning.
Specific allegations from the watchdog include Ticketmaster labelling certain seated tickets as ‘platinum,’ selling them for up to 2.5 times the price of equivalent standard tickets, without clearly explaining that these offered no additional benefits and were often located in the same stadium areas. This practice allegedly misled customers into believing 'platinum' tickets were superior. Furthermore, Ticketmaster is accused of failing to inform consumers about the existence of two price categories for standing tickets, with the cheaper ones being sold first before the more expensive ones were released. This left many customers waiting for extended periods, unaware they would ultimately have to pay more.

In response to the ticketing uproar, Oasis issued a statement clarifying that they were “not aware” dynamic pricing would be used and that decisions on ticketing and pricing were left entirely to their promoters and management. While acknowledging that prior meetings aimed for a fair ticket sale strategy, the band stated that “the execution of the plan failed to meet expectations” due to unprecedented demand. Despite all parties' efforts, delivering the best fan experience became impossible.
Oasis's manager, Alec McKinlay, has also provided insights into the tour's future. He confirmed that the news of the comeback tour was kept highly confidential by a limited group of trusted individuals. McKinlay emphatically ruled out any new material from the band and dismissed rumors of additional tour dates. He stated, “This is very much the last time around, as Noel’s made clear in the press. It’s a chance for fans who haven’t seen the band to see them, or at least for some of them to.” He reiterated, “No, there’s no plan for any new music,” putting a dampener on hopes for further tours or new recordings.
