The manager of soulful singer Simi has dismissed reports circulating online that the artiste and her husband, Adekunle Gold, are heading for a divorce, describing the viral claim as false, according to Vanguard.
Simi’s manager, Vincent, stated that the viral social media rumor was based on a fake document claiming to be a divorce petition supposedly filed by Adekunle Gold.
It stated that the couple’s marriage had “irretrievably broken down,” citing prolonged emotional, financial, and professional control as reasons.
The document also reportedly requested the marriage be dissolved and proposed joint custody arrangements for their children.
Some online outlets even suggested the petition had been formally filed at the High Court of Lagos State, adding to the credibility concerns surrounding the rumour.

Vincent pointed to several, specific legal and formatting inconsistencies in the document as proof of its fraudulent nature, including the use of stage names in a legal context, a backdated suit number, and other procedural errors, as reported by Ripples Nigeria.
Simi and Adekunle Gold's relationship began as a strong friendship and professional collaboration before they officially tied the knot in January 2019.
The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter named Adejare, in 2020.
Earlier this year, the pair were also reported to have welcomed twins, a joyous development widely celebrated by their fanbase.
They recently marked their seventh wedding anniversary, sharing heartfelt tributes to each other on social media, further solidifying their public image as a united and loving couple, contrary to the baseless divorce claims.
