Nicolas Cage's 'Carpenter's Son' Unleashes Holy Hell in New Glimpse!

Magnolia Pictures is set to release "The Carpenter's Son," a highly anticipated film that blends religious themes with supernatural horror, starring Nicolas Cage as Joseph, singer FKA twigs as Mary, and Noah Jupe as their son, Jesus. Collider's Exclusive Preview event has unveiled a new image emphasizing Jupe’s central role as the son of God, who faces temptation and terror.
The narrative unfolds in a small village in Roman-era Egypt, where Jesus, Mary, and Joseph pause during their journey. Struggling to maintain their faith amid constant threats, they become entangled in a profound spiritual conflict between divine and demonic forces. A mysterious stranger attempts to lure the teenage Jesus away from his father's teachings, drawing him into a forbidden world of supernatural thrills. Violent, unnatural occurrences and horrific visions plague Jesus at every turn.
Joseph soon realizes that a demonic influence is at play, but neither he nor Mary is prepared for the revelation that Jesus’s new companion is none other than Satan, the ruler of Hell. The cast also includes Isla Johnston as the stranger who tempts young Jesus. The film’s concept, which reimagines Jesus's story as a horror tale inspired by The Infancy Gospel of Thomas, has sparked controversy. However, writer-director Lotfy Nathan, drawing from his Coptic Christian heritage, aims to bring personal authenticity to the project, marking his second narrative feature after 2022's Harka.
Nicolas Cage is a veteran of horror and genre-bending cinema, with notable works including Willy’s Wonderland, Mandy, Color Out of Space, and Longlegs. Noah Jupe is also building an impressive horror resume, having appeared in A Quiet Place and its sequel. In 2025, Jupe has already featured in Apple TV+'s Lady in the Lake, the Oscar-contending Hamnet, and the drama & Sons alongside Bill Nighy.
"The Carpenter's Son" is slated to arrive in theaters on November 14, promising a unique and potentially provocative cinematic experience.
