Netflix Shocks Fans: Beloved Sci-Fi Franchise Returns This Week!

Netflix has built up an impressive sci-fi lineup over the past decade, but no series has reached the same heights as Stranger Things.

The show debuted 10 years ago as a fairly straightforward supernatural kidnapping story, yet by the time its final season premiered last year, it had grown into something far more layered.

Like any massively popular series, the ending of Stranger Things proved somewhat divisive among viewers, though most would agree it steered clear of the kind of disastrous finale seen with Game of Thrones.

Many fans were also caught off guard by how few major deaths occurred in the finale. Even though Season 5 has already aired, there are still plenty of stories from Hawkins that could be explored, and fans will have the chance to revisit the epic sci-fi world soon.

Following the conclusion ofStranger Thingsearlier this year, fans were eager to learn more about the confirmed spin-off in the works at Netflix.

However, the Duffer brothers (creators of Stranger Things) have confirmed that it will not feature any familiar characters and will focus on the origins of the rock found in the cave by Henry Creel (Jamie Campbell Bower) that gave him his powers.

That isn’t the case for the new Stranger Things spin-off arriving this week, though, which will feature all beloved members of the original series.

This Thursday, April 23, Netflix will premiere all episodes of Stranger Things: Tales From ‘85, the animated series set between the events of Stranger Things Seasons 2 and 3.

The animated spin-off of Stranger Things, Tales From ’85, features a new voice cast bringing the beloved characters to life. Brooklyn Davey Norstedt voices Eleven, alongside Jolie Hoang-Rappaport (Max), Luca Diaz (Mike), Elisha "EJ" Williams (Lucas), Braxton Quinney (Dustin), and Ben Plessala (Will).

The story returns to Hawkins in the winter of 1985, as everything seems calm as the kids enjoy games and normal life.

But soon, a new danger rises, and they must come together again to save their town.

Beyond Stranger Things, fans of sci-fi can try Collider’s “Sci-Fi Survival Quiz” to see which world they could survive in.

The quiz places you in five famous universes: The Matrix, Mad Max, Blade Runner, Dune, and Star Wars. It asks simple questions about your choices, instincts, and how you handletough situations.

Your result shows your survival style:

  • The Matrix → Smart and curious, you question everything.

  • Mad Max → Tough and practical, focused on survival.

  • Blade Runner → Calm and careful, able to handle difficult situations.

It’s a quick and fun way to discover how you’d survive in a broken future.

Survival on Arrakis from Dune is reserved for those with exceptional patience, discipline, and political awareness, understanding that the long game is paramount in the universe's most hostile environment.

Such individuals would learn the desert planet's logic and earn its respect, eventually reshaping it rather than being consumed by it. Lastly, a survivor in "A Galaxy Far, Far Away" from Star Wars thrives in vast, politically tumultuous environments.

These individuals find meaning in larger causes, gravitating towards the Rebellion or other pockets of resistance, fighting for freedom not out of obligation but because they are incapable of standing aside.

This willingness to fight is what defines their survival in a galaxy under constant threat from the Empire. This diverse range of sci-fi content, from animated spin-offs to interactive quizzes, ensures that fans have plenty to engage with in the ever-expanding world of science fiction.
