Madonna Shocks Coachella with Sabrina Carpenter Collab, New Track Released!

Madonna has officially released her new song, “I Feel So Free,” to streaming services, following its debut on iHeartRadio’s Pride station. The pulsating track, which is part of the upcoming album “Confessions II,” dropped at midnight after the Queen of Pop made a surprise appearance during Sabrina Carpenter’s headlining set at Coachella. In addition to the song's release, Madonna also shared a trippy visualizer for “I Feel So Free” on YouTube.
The song opens with Madonna’s unique sing-speak delivery: “Thanks for coming. Sometimes I like to just hide in the shadows/ Create a new persona/ A different identity/ I can be whoever I want to be/ Create a new persona/ Honestly I wish/ I could be like other people and just not care/ But out here on the dance floor, I feel so free.” Musically, “I Feel So Free” is a propulsive dance track that draws parallels to the beat of Lil Louis’ 1989 house classic “French Kiss.” It also distinctly fits within the sonic landscape of Madonna’s 2005 electro-pop dance era, echoing the sound of “Future Lovers” from her iconic “Confessions on a Dance Floor” album.
“Confessions II” is an eagerly anticipated sequel to the critically acclaimed “Confessions on a Dance Floor,” which notably debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in December 2005. This new project marks a significant reunion for Madonna, as it sees her collaborating once again with Stuart Price, the same producer who worked on the original “Confessions on a Dance Floor” and served as music director for her 2023–2024 Celebration Tour. Label representatives previously confirmed to Billboard that “I Feel So Free” is an early release and not the lead single for the album, which has yet to be announced.
A countdown on Spotify for “Confessions II” reveals that the album will feature a total of 16 tracks. Scheduled for release on July 3, this album will be Madonna’s first full-length project since 2019’s “Madame X.” Furthermore, it signifies her first major release since re-signing with Warner Records in September 2025, underscoring a new chapter in her storied career.
