Kenya’s Leta Raises $3 Million to Drive West African Logistics Expansion

Kenyan B2B logistics and supply chain SaaS startup Leta has successfully secured $3 million in funding, aiming to accelerate its growth across West Africa. Launched in 2021, Leta provides a comprehensive logistics operating system that helps businesses optimize fleet management, reduce costs, and streamline distribution processes.
The funding will primarily support Leta’s West African expansion, beginning with Ghana in December, targeting major distributors and e-commerce platforms, followed by a launch in Nigeria next year. Nick Joshi, Leta’s founder and CEO, stated: “Our product has stabilized and we have a very good understanding of our sales process and our go-to-market strategy. The capital we have raised will help us quickly scale into new markets, beginning with Ghana.”
Leta’s software allows businesses to monitor drivers, track cargo, optimize truck loading, calculate journey times, and maximize asset utilization. This end-to-end solution enables companies to serve a larger customer base while operating fewer vehicles efficiently.
Since inception, Leta has reportedly optimized over 500,000 deliveries, managed 2,000 vehicles, and facilitated the movement of 20,000 tons of goods. Its client roster includes notable companies such as Twiga, ShopZetu, Simbisa Brands, and Chandaria Industries, whose family office participated in the funding round.
Darshan Chandaria, CEO of Chandaria Capital, commented: “Leta has been instrumental in streamlining our last-mile distribution, delivering meaningful savings on logistics costs while improving service delivery.”
Looking ahead, Leta plans to enhance its technology IP, launch a transport marketplace to connect clients with additional delivery vehicles efficiently, and collaborate with financial providers to introduce fintech solutions for asset financing, empowering clients to expand their fleets using Leta’s platform.
Leta’s $3 million raise underscores the increasing demand for innovative logistics solutions in Africa, as businesses seek technological tools to drive efficiency and support regional expansion.
