Kaduna 2027: Governor Uba Sani Confident APC Will Secure Landslide Victory

Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has expressed strong confidence in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections, predicting that the party will capture 95 percent of the total votes in the state.
The governor made this bold projection during a mega rally held in Kaduna over the weekend, which saw a massive wave of defections from various opposition parties into the APC.
Governor Sani attributed the party’s remarkable growth in Kaduna to his administration’s commitment to justice, fairness, and inclusivity. He pointed out that the APC’s legislative representation has grown significantly, noting that the party, which had only four members in the House of Representatives in 2023, now has 13 legislators from Kaduna, leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with just three. Similarly, he revealed that the APC commands 26 seats in the State House of Assembly, compared to the PDP’s eight.
Addressing the new entrants, Governor Sani reaffirmed his earlier pledge to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to deliver a landslide victory for the APC in Kaduna, initially targeting 80 percent of the votes. However, buoyed by the recent defections, he confidently raised the target to 95 percent. He assured the decampees that the APC operates as one united family, promising equal opportunities and privileges for both long-standing members and newcomers without discrimination.
Prominent party leaders who spoke at the rally echoed Governor Sani’s optimism and celebrated the APC’s growing political dominance. The APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, described the party as “the promised land” for Nigerian politicians, advocating for a second term for both President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani in recognition of their commendable achievements.
Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, also lauded the party’s unprecedented rise in Kaduna State, declaring that no other political group had ever achieved such dominance. “Today, whether in Zone 1, Zone 2, or Zone 3, APC is the party to beat. We’ve never been this strong before,” he said.
Speaking on behalf of the decampees, Hon. Husseini Jalo expressed gratitude to Governor Uba Sani and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for their exemplary leadership at both state and national levels.
The mega rally was a high-profile gathering attended by top dignitaries, including Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, Minister of Environment Alhaji Balarabe Abbas Lawal, and the Chairman of the North West Development Commission, Alhaji Lawal Samaila Yakawada, alongside thousands of enthusiastic APC supporters.
