Jonas Brothers Shine in Heartwarming Disney Christmas Musical

The Jonas Brothers, celebrated for their Disney origins with hits like Camp Rock and Jonas, are marking their 20th anniversary with a nostalgic resurgence. Alongside a reunion with Demi Lovato, a new song for Disneyland’s 70th anniversary, and touring celebrations, they now star in and produce the holiday film A Very Jonas Christmas. The movie blends festive cheer with intimate family moments, offering a heartfelt addition to holiday entertainment.
A Very Jonas Christmas opens with Joe, Nick, and Kevin Jonas performing a holiday song before planning a family reunion for Christmas. A seemingly simple flight from London to New York, however, becomes a series of mishaps orchestrated by Santa Claus, portrayed by Jesse Tyler Ferguson. Initially frustrating, these obstacles allow the brothers to confront strained relationships outside their professional lives. Through teamwork, they rediscover their bond, learning to navigate personal challenges.
The film’s charm lies in its meta-narrative: the brothers’ on-screen struggles echo real-life experiences. Kevin has spoken publicly about his past insecurities performing solos, Joe’s romantic life has often made headlines, and Nick’s dedication to music contributed to the 2013 band split. By blending fiction with reality, the movie creates an engaging and relatable story while emphasizing family and togetherness—a hallmark of classic holiday films like Home Alone and A Christmas Carol. Family appearances, including Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Danielle Jonas, further enrich the festive atmosphere.
Music remains central to the film. The Jonas Brothers frequently break into song, using music to express emotions and advance the story. A standout moment is Joe’s duet with Lucy (Chloe Bennet), titled “Feel Something,” which captures the same musical chemistry reminiscent of Camp Rock. Broadway alum Andrew Barth Feldman also appears, delivering a humorous, over-the-top musical challenge to Nick, nodding to the band’s theatrical roots.
While A Very Jonas Christmas is a nostalgic delight, a few minor flaws exist. Some comedic moments, such as an unexpected wolf attack toward the end, slightly disrupt the narrative’s climax, and the film occasionally struggles to balance the brothers’ emotional journey with the developing romance between Joe and Lucy. Nonetheless, these imperfections do little to diminish the overall experience. The film offers new songs, genuine holiday warmth, and an intimate look at the brothers’ relationship, making it a festive treat for fans of all ages.
Directed by Jessica Yu and written by Elizabeth Berger and Isaac Aptaker, A Very Jonas Christmas Movie premiered on November 14, 2025, and is available to stream on Disney+.
