John Krasinski Reveals Start Date for Billion-Dollar Franchise Blockbuster!

Just over six years after viewers last saw the Abbott family and nearly five years after development began, A Quiet Place Part III is now closer than ever to being a reality.

Last year, John Krasinski set his return to the director's chair for the threequel, which he also penned as a final chapter to the clan's story of survival in the wake of an invasion by a sound-sensitive alien menace.

As of March, the cast is now set, with Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe all returning as the Abbotts alongside Cillian Murphy's survivor Emmett and three big newcomers in Jack O'Connell, Katy O'Brien, and Jason Clarke.

All the pieces are in place for filming to begin this spring, which Karsinski can now officially confirm.

During an interview with Collider's Steve Weintraub for his new film, Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan: Ghost War, Krasinski was asked about when exactly cameras start rolling on Part III and what exactly he can share about his new horror feature.

Not only does production begin this season, but the beginning of the end is right around the corner for the Abbott family.

"We start filming one week from today, and this is how nervous and stressed out I am," he revealed.

He is happy to have his return as Jack Ryan coming soon, giving him something else to focus his energy on while anxiously awaiting the chance to step back into the apocalypse of A Quiet Place. "So I'm glad to be distracted because, yeah, it's a lot. We're so excited."

Details about A Quiet Place Part III's story have been kept tightly under wraps since its announcement, to the point that even Simmonds had no idea what was coming next.

When the Abbott family last graced the big screen in A Quiet Place: Part II, they had finally given the world hope after using Reagan's (Simmonds) cochlear implant to broadcast a high-frequency radio signal capable of stunning the aliens. However, their fight for survival is not yet over.

Krasinski further confirmed that this will be the end of his planned trilogy and that part of the difficulty of the lengthy development was finding a way to wrap up the Abbotts' story naturally.

"Listen, I'm just really excited that I'm being given the chance to close out my chapter," he continued.

"This was always seen as a trilogy in my head. I just wanted to figure it out in an organic way, and I think we have."

Returning as Lee is not likely after his heroic sacrifice in the first blockbuster film that started it all in 2018, but Krasinski worked both in front of the camera and in the writers' room on the new Jack Ryan movie.

Ghost Warpulls the titular CIA analyst back into the field after an international covert mission unveils a conspiracy involving a rogue black ops unit.

With time ticking down and an enemy that seemingly knows their every move, Jack reunites with James Greer (Wendell Pierce) and Mike November (Michael Kelly), alongside his new partner, MI6 officer Emma Marlowe (Sienna Miller), to unravel the web of treachery and face down the past one final time.

It will continue the legacy of the original action show along the way, making for a deeply personal and dangerous final act, penned by Krasinski and Aaron Rabin with a story by the Office star and Noah Oppenheim.

A Quiet Place Part III won't release until July 30, 2027, and In the meantime, however, Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan: Ghost War debuts on Prime Video on May 20.
