Innovation Unleashed: BitcoinOS Rakes In $10M To Supercharge Bitcoin Mainnet With ZK-Proof Programmability

BitcoinOS (BOS), an innovative Bitcoin “operating system” built around zero-knowledge proofs, recently announced a successful $10 million fundraise. This significant capital injection is set to propel BOS’s mission to unlock advanced functionalities for the Bitcoin blockchain, transforming it into a more versatile and programmable asset.
The strategic funding round was led by Greenfield Capital, with substantial backing from a consortium of prominent investors including FalconX, DNA Fund, Bitcoin Frontier Fund, Trust Machines, UTXO Management, LR Ventures, Silvermine Capital, and MMW 2020 Trust. The participation of renowned angel investors such as Paul Taylor, formerly of BlackRock Private Equity Partners, and Leeor Groen, Partner at Spartan Group, further underscores the broad industry confidence in BOS’s vision and technological approach.
BOS’s core innovation lies in its application of zero-knowledge proofs (ZK proofs) within a layer-two protocol. This technology is specifically designed to enable smart contracts on Bitcoin, a functionality that has long eluded the blockchain. By doing so, BOS aims to facilitate seamless interoperability across multiple blockchains, unlocking significant institutional value for Decentralized Finance (DeFi) and generating new Bitcoin yield opportunities for traditional financial systems. According to a press release shared with Bitcoin Magazine, the newly secured funds will primarily be directed toward advancing BOS’s technological development, with the ultimate goal of transforming the internet into a unified global economy built on Bitcoin’s inherent trust and decentralization.
The BOS roadmap outlines an ambitious plan to accelerate the production phase of its institutional and developer protocols ahead of their wider market rollout. Jascha Samadi, Founding Partner of Greenfield Capital, emphasized the revolutionary nature of BOS’s work, stating, “BitcoinOS’s successful verification of ZK proofs directly on the Bitcoin mainnet represents a fundamental breakthrough in blockchain infrastructure. They’ve achieved true Bitcoin programmability without altering the base protocol, solving a challenge the industry has faced since Bitcoin’s inception. This technology transforms Bitcoin from a mere store of value into the secure foundation layer for the entire digital asset ecosystem.” Edan Yago, CEO and Co-founder of BOS, echoed this sentiment, expressing optimism about Bitcoin’s future trajectory. He affirmed, “We are now in a very exciting time for Bitcoin, and this fundraise will strongly contribute to its exponential growth. The confidence shown by capital investors and Bitcoin-focused funds reflects the strong market demand and excitement surrounding our achievements. We are proud to accelerate Bitcoin and BTCFi toward mainstream adoption while preserving the decentralized and trustless principles it was founded upon.”
BOS has achieved a series of remarkable technical milestones that have earned it significant recognition within the blockchain community. These include the successful verification of zero-knowledge proofs directly on the Bitcoin mainnet, the seamless execution of off-chain computations with on-chain validation, and the creation of a Bitcoin-native development framework enabling smart contract functionality without requiring changes to the base layer. These advancements not only enhance Bitcoin’s scalability and privacy but also position BOS as a pioneering force in extending Bitcoin’s utility beyond a store of value to a fully programmable and interoperable financial ecosystem.
