iHeartRadio Music Awards 2026: Taylor Swift Reigns, Miley Cyrus Innovates, & A Star-Studded Debut Rocks The Red Carpet!

The 2026 iHeartRadio Music Awards, held on Thursday, March 26, at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, celebrated top musical talents, with Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift leading the night with significant accolades. The ceremony, hosted by Ludacris, featured a series of memorable moments, including an unexpected awards show debut and heartfelt acceptance speeches.
Miley Cyrus was honored with the prestigious Innovator Award, presented by country singer Lainey Wilson, who praised Cyrus as "one of my biggest inspirations" and a figure who "redefined herself in front of the world over and over again." Cyrus, celebrating the 20th anniversary of Hannah Montana, referenced the milestone during her acceptance speech, noting that the week had been "a dream come true." She shared how Hannah Montana inspired her to create a persona for confidence and authenticity. Defining innovation, Cyrus emphasized that her love for writing songs and stories is her true compass, asserting that if awards were her sole guide, she would "end up very lost." She concluded by expressing the deep joy she finds in connecting with people globally through her art, stating, "Younger me is so honored to share this moment with you. I’m proud to stand here and tell you how much you mean to me," and added a final nod to her iconic character: "This really is the life."
Taylor Swift and her fiancé Travis Kelce made their highly anticipated awards show debut at the event. While Swift's appearance was announced beforehand, Kelce's attendance came as a surprise. The couple arrived separately, with Swift gracing the red carpet solo in an embellished mint green corset and skirt set, and Kelce joining her inside wearing a brown leather jacket. During her acceptance speech for Pop Album of the Year for "The Life of a Showgirl," Swift openly credited Kelce as an inspiration, stating, "I think that this album probably also feels very happy and confident and free, because that’s the way that I get to feel every single day of my life because of my fiancé, who’s here."
Swift's triumphant night continued as she secured the coveted Artist of the Year award, among a total of seven prizes received at the ceremony. Olympic gold medal-winning ice skater Alysa Liu presented Swift with five of these awards, marking a moment of mutual admiration between the two. In her acceptance speech, Swift expressed her profound love for her craft, reminiscing how songwriting began as a cherished hobby. She shared her childhood experience of spending "thousands of hours working at my craft, practicing, making mistakes through trial and error," all "completely unobserved." Addressing fellow musicians in the audience, Swift offered insightful advice, urging them to "nurture your hobby and your passion, just between you and that craft, and you give yourself time. Give yourself time to make mistakes. Give yourself time to hone your craft." She concluded with a potent warning about the digital age: "Anything you feed your mind, it will internalize. Anything you feed the Internet, it will attempt to kill, and I don’t want that for your dreams." With these seven new accolades, Swift further solidified her record at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, bringing her cumulative total to an impressive 41 wins, maintaining her position as the most awarded artist in the event's history.
