Iconic Band Oasis Bids Emotional Farewell to Australian Fans

Oasis has officially wrapped up their highly anticipated 2025 Australian reunion tour, marking a triumphant return to the continent after years apart. The legendary Britpop group drew more than 320,000 fans across five sold-out stadium shows in Melbourne and Sydney, making it one of the most attended rock tours in Australia this year. The tour began with three electrifying nights at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium, followed by two unforgettable performances at Sydney’s Accor Stadium, closing on Saturday, November 8th.
Addressing the roaring Sydney crowd, Liam Gallagher expressed heartfelt gratitude: “Thanks for putting up with us. We know we were d–kheads sometimes. Your support has put us back on the map. Respect! You’ve got a lovely f–king country. See you again.” His words reflected the band’s appreciation for the enduring support of Australian fans and their rekindled connection with audiences worldwide.
Beyond the nostalgia, the tour sparked cultural and even scientific fascination. In Melbourne, seismic sensors at the Seismology Research Centre reportedly detected tremors during Oasis’ performance caused by thousands of fans stomping in rhythm and singing along. Meanwhile, Melbourne’s iconic Cherry Bar credited Oasis for a surge in nightlife revival. Owner James Young shared online, “The darkest hour is before the dawn, Melbourne and Cherry Bar needed a hero and who knew it would come in the shape of a couple of ‘no f#cks given’ Mancunian larrikins?!” He described it as the venue’s biggest week on record, highlighting the tour’s powerful economic and cultural impact.
Despite a brief incident at the opening show involving flares, the overall tour reception was overwhelmingly positive. Billboard praised the opening Melbourne concert for its explosive start: “Kicking off with ‘Hello,’ into which Liam inserted the lyrics ‘it’s good to be back,’ then ‘Acquiesce,’ and ‘Morning Glory,’ provided an opening combination that hit hard and fast.” The publication hailed the event as “a blinder, a result for anyone who wanted, waited for this band, and sang at the top of their lungs.” The shows also drew celebrity attendees, including Tina Arena and Jelly Roll, reaffirming Oasis’s global appeal.
As the band’s Australian leg concludes, Oasis shows no signs of slowing down. Their global tour continues into 2026, with performances slated for South America, including Argentina, Chile, and Brazil. For fans, the reunion represents not only a revival of anthemic rock but also a rare celebration of unity, nostalgia, and pure musical energy.
