HYBE's Bold Move: Unveiling Santos Bravos, Their First Disruptive Latin Pop Sensation

The highly anticipated Latin boy band Santos Bravos is scheduled to make its debut performance on October 21 at Mexico City’s Auditorio Nacional, a 10,000-capacity venue, with a sold-out audience expected even though its members have yet to be revealed. This significant event will not only unveil the five members of the Latin boy band but also mark the culmination of their rigorous, monthslong journey to become HYBE’s first all-male Latin group, signifying a major expansion of the company’s global footprint.
HYBE, a South Korean label renowned for forming successful groups such as K-pop giants BTS and Seventeen, and more recently the girl pop group KATSEYE, is now venturing entirely into Latin talent development with Santos Bravos. This ambitious project operates under HYBE Latin America, a subsidiary established in 2023 following the acquisition of Exile Music, the music division of Spanish-language studio Exile Content. The formation of Santos Bravos officially began in May. While Latin boy or mixed girl-boy bands like Menudo, Timbiriche, and RBD have historically been integral to Latin music, contemporary boy bands have often struggled to achieve a similar phenomenon status, with acts like CNCO finding some success on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart but never cracking the Billboard Hot 100.
