Harry Styles Dominates Down Under with Chart-Topping New Album!

Harry Styles has once again demonstrated his formidable chart presence, securing his fourth consecutive No. 1 album in Australia with "Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally" (Columbia/Sony) on the ARIA Albums Chart. This achievement marks a perfect four-for-four streak for Styles as a solo artist, following the success of his self-titled debut in 2017 (one week at No. 1), "Fine Line" in 2019-20 (three weeks), and "Harry’s House" in 2022-23 (ten weeks). His history of chart domination also extends to his time with One Direction, where he contributed to four No. 1 albums: "Up All Night" (2011), "Take Me Home" (2012), "Midnight Memories" (2013), and "Four" (2014).
The new album, which debuted on the chart published Friday, March 13, proved to be a significant success across formats, topping the best-seller list for vinyl during the latest cycle. Furthermore, all twelve tracks from "Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally" made an impact on the ARIA Top 50, with "American Girls" leading the charge at No. 3. This brings Styles' total career tally of top 50 appearances to an impressive 33. His previous success on the ARIA Singles Chart includes two No. 1 hits: "Sign Of The Times" (2017) and "As It Was" (2022).
While Styles enjoyed a stellar debut, Olivia Dean's "The Art of Loving" (Universal) was consequently dethroned from the No. 1 spot, slipping to No. 2. Dean's album had previously enjoyed a remarkable run of ten non-consecutive weeks at the pinnacle of the albums chart. However, Dean maintained her stronghold on the ARIA Singles Chart, as her signature song "Man I Need" extended its reign for an impressive seventeenth consecutive week at No. 1. This historic achievement ties "Man I Need" with The Kid Laroi and Justin Bieber’s "Stay" and Alex Warren’s "Ordinary" as the second-longest reigning single since the ARIA Charts' inception in 1983. The all-time record is held by Tones and I’s "Dance Monkey," which commanded the top spot for 24 non-consecutive weeks in 2019-20.
Elsewhere on the charts, Linkin Park saw a significant resurgence with their album "From Zero" (Warner), which soared from No. 44 to No. 4. This dramatic climb is attributed to the band's first national tour of Australia in 13 years, which was set to conclude on Saturday, March 14, with their second show at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena. "From Zero" had previously spent one week at No. 1 in November 2024. Legendary U.S. rockers Fugazi also made their first appearance on the Australian charts with their sixth studio album, "Albini Sessions" (Benefits For Letters Charity), debuting at No. 20. This independently-issued collection features previously-unreleased recordings made in 1992 with the late Steve Albini.
Australian independent artists also celebrated chart success, with Bully Haymakes securing a No. 31 debut for "Anywhere But Here" and Sam Buckingham entering at No. 35 with "Beautiful Machine." Both artists achieved top 40 bows with their independently-released efforts. Finally, Tame Impala’s track "Dracula" (Columbia/Sony) continued its ascent, improving from No. 17 to a new peak position of No. 15 in its twentieth week on the ARIA Chart. The Deadbeat tune received a boost from JENNIE's vocal contribution to a new mix and her subsequent participation in a "Dracula" TikTok trend. Notably, "Dracula" remains the sole Australian recording to feature in the latest ARIA Top 50.
