Halle Berry's Heartfelt MCU Plea: Storm's Return and Avengers Doomsday Absence

Halle Berry, the acclaimed Oscar-winning actor, will not be reprising her iconic role as the weather-controlling mutant Storm in the upcoming Marvel film, "Avengers: Doomsday." Despite her absence from this installment, Berry expressed a strong desire for a future return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, stating she would do so "in a heartbeat."
Berry shared her deep pride in having been a part of the X-Men universe, particularly highlighting the themes of mutants and outcasts. She noted that these movies have been significant for her children to watch as they grew, appreciating the important messages they conveyed. Her portrayal of Storm spanned from 2000 to 2014, appearing in seminal films such as "X-Men," "X2: X-Men United," "X-Men: The Last Stand," and "X-Men: Days of Future Past." She emphasized her affection for the character, calling Storm "very special" to her and expressing gratitude for the opportunity to play her.
While Storm will not be featured, "Avengers: Doomsday" is set to bring back a substantial roster of actors from the "X-Men" universe, including Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Kelsey Grammer, Alan Cumming, James Marsden, Channing Tatum, and Rebecca Romijn. The film will also feature a long list of other prominent Marvel actors like Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Danny Ramirez, Sebastian Stan, Paul Rudd, Tom Hiddleston, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Simu Liu, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Florence Pugh, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Hannah John-Kamen, and Lewis Pullman.
Intriguingly, Robert Downey Jr. is also confirmed for "Doomsday," though he will not return as Tony Stark. Instead, he is slated to play the villainous Doctor Doom. "Avengers: Doomsday" is directed by MCU regulars Anthony and Joe Russo and is scheduled for release on December 18.
