Google's Bold Vision: Gemini Enterprise to Deploy AI Agent on Every Desk

Google Cloud has officially launched Gemini Enterprise, a groundbreaking new platform positioned as "the new front door for AI in the workplace." Unveiled during a virtual press conference, this comprehensive solution seamlessly integrates Google's powerful Gemini models, an array of first and third-party agents, and the foundational technology of what was formerly known as Google Agentspace. The core objective of Gemini Enterprise is to democratize the creation and widespread use of AI-powered agents, enabling organizations to automate complex workflows, significantly boost productivity, and unlock new efficiencies across their entire operations.
Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud, articulated the vision behind this new offering, explaining that as customers evolve beyond simply building applications with AI, they are now "advancing to build agents." Gemini Enterprise is Google's strategic response to this shift, bundling its extensive AI stack into a cohesive, user-friendly experience. This empowers both developers and business users to construct sophisticated AI agents with a no-code workbench, making advanced AI capabilities accessible to a broader audience.
The platform is architected around six core components designed to deliver robust and adaptable AI solutions. At its heart, the "brains" of the operation are Google's cutting-edge Gemini models, including the newly accessible Gemini 2.5 Flash Image. The "workbench" provides the essential agent creation and orchestration technology, refined from Google Agentspace, allowing any user to manage and automate processes with ease. Complementing these, the "taskforce" comprises a suite of pre-built Google agents tailored for specialized functions, such as the innovative Code Assist Agent and the Deep Research Agent. To ensure these agents are truly effective, Gemini Enterprise features deep integration capabilities with a company’s existing data through new connectors for vital systems like Microsoft Teams, Salesforce, Box, Confluence, and Jira. Kurian highlighted the system’s intelligence, noting, "We remember who you are and what you do and use it to personalize the context you have when we work with a large language model." A central "governance" framework allows organizations to monitor, secure, and audit all agents from a single point of control, bolstered by built-in protections like Model Armor. Finally, the platform is built on an open "ecosystem," supported by a vast network of over 100,000 partners.
Maryam Gholami provided a compelling demonstration to illustrate Gemini Enterprise's practical capabilities, offering a glimpse into the future of work. She emphasized, "The beauty of Gemini Enterprise is that it offers the familiar interface of the Gemini but built for enterprise workflows, including full control to enable or disable any of the sources as needed." During her walkthrough, Gholami utilized a custom 'campaigns agent' that orchestrated four distinct agents to manage market research, media generation, team communications, and inventory management. In this scenario, the agent successfully identified an emerging market trend towards sci-fi themes, flagged a 25 percent inventory gap, automatically created a purchase order in ServiceNow, drafted a targeted email to store managers, and generated relevant social media assets. Gholami concluded, "Gemini Enterprise is more than just a chat interface. It's an end-to-end AI system that unifies your data, your tools, and your teams, turning weeks of complex work into a single, streamlined conversation."
The platform's real-world value is further evidenced by early customer adoptions. Nirmal Saverimuttu, CEO of Virgin Voyages, shared his perspective that "any major disruption like AI requires a cultural transformation to be successful." He crucially stressed that AI's role is to augment, not replace, his team, stating, "Our people are our biggest asset. AI will never replace our people. To me, AI is about getting the best from our people. It’s about unleashing human potential." Virgin Voyages has deployed a fleet of over 50 specialized AI agents company-wide. One such agent, 'Email Ellie,' has boosted content production speed by 40 percent and contributed to a 28 percent year-over-year increase in July sales, alongside operational gains including a "35 percent reduction in agency dependency costs, resulting in creative independence." Another significant early adopter is Macquarie Bank, one of Australia’s largest, which has rolled out Gemini Enterprise to every employee, reporting that 99 percent of its staff have already completed generative AI training.
Google has reinforced Gemini Enterprise's commitment to an open platform, with key partners like Box, Salesforce, and ServiceNow actively announcing compatible agents. To further assist customers in discovering suitable solutions, a new AI agent finder will list thousands of validated partner offerings. Supporting widespread adoption, Google has also introduced Google Skills, a new free learning platform featuring 3,000 courses. As part of this initiative, the company launched the Gemini Enterprise Agent Ready (GEAR) program, an educational sprint designed to empower one million developers to build and deploy agents using the platform.
Gemini Enterprise is globally available in all countries where Google Cloud products are sold. Pricing structures vary, with Gemini Business, tailored for small businesses, starting at $21 per seat per month. For larger organizations, the Gemini Enterprise Standard and Plus editions begin at $30 per seat per month. Thomas Kurian encapsulates the launch’s ethos, stating, "Gemini Enterprise technology is really about reimagining a super powerful AI technology [for the workplace] but making it super easy to use and putting it in the hands of every company and every user in those companies."
