Furious Scenes at Old Trafford: Idrissa Gueye's Red Card for Striking Teammate as Everton Down Man Utd

Manchester United faced a calamitous 1-0 defeat at Old Trafford against an Everton side that had only secured one victory at the venue in the past 33 years, and not won away from home since August. This loss denied United the chance to solidify their position in the Premier League's top four, showcasing a clear setback in their supposed progress.
The match took an extraordinary turn early on when Everton's Idrissa Gueye received a red card after just 13 minutes. In a bizarre incident, a miscommunication between Gueye and teammate Michael Keane led to a confrontation in the penalty area, culminating in Gueye appearing to slap Keane in the face. Referee Tony Harrington promptly brandished a straight red card. This made Gueye only the third player in Premier League history to be sent off for an offense against his own teammate.
Despite playing with 10 men for 77 minutes, Everton astonishingly managed to get the better of Manchester United. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall opened the scoring just before the half-hour mark, strolling past weak challenges from Bruno Fernandes and Leny Yoro before firing a magnificent shot past goalkeeper Senne Lammens into the top corner. Everton's resilience was palpable, with Iliman Ndiaye and Jack Grealish tirelessly working the flanks, while Keane and James Tarkowski steadfastly defended, heading away numerous crosses. Goalkeeper Jordan Pickford delivered an inspired performance, making crucial full-stretch saves, particularly denying two Joshua Zirkzee headers in the final 10 minutes.
