EV Incentives Shift: $7,500 Tax Credit Vanishes, Black Friday Deals Emerge Victorious

Despite recent headlines highlighting declining electric vehicle (EV) sales, Black Friday deals are offering significant savings, reducing reliance on the $7,500 federal tax credit. A variety of EVs across multiple segments now come with attractive discounts, financing options, and incentives for 2025–2026 models.
One standout offer is the 2026 Hyundai IONIQ 5, a former MotorTrend SUV of the Year winner. Prices have been lowered by $7,600–$9,800, with an additional $1,500 off for all buyers. The SE trim, featuring rear-wheel drive, a powerful motor, and an expanded battery, delivers 318 miles of range and a spacious interior for just under $40,000.
The 2025 Ford Mustang Mach-E is also attracting attention, offering 0% financing for 72 months along with up to $3,000 off, depending on the region. Despite minor quirks such as door handle ergonomics, the Mach-E delivers solid range, enjoyable driving dynamics, and a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS.
For buyers seeking extra space, the 2026 Kia EV9, a three-row SUV, comes with a $10,000 discount across all trims, complementing its electric advantages such as quieter operation, faster acceleration, and easier home charging. Additionally, the two-row Kia EV6 remains available with a $10,000 incentive and 0% financing for 60 months plus $2,500 incentives.
Luxury EV enthusiasts can consider the 2025 BMW i4, now available with 1.99% financing for 60 months or 0.9% for 48 months, alongside a $7,500 discount. The base i4 eDrive40 RWD model reaches 60 mph in 4.9 seconds, delivering the iconic BMW driving experience. The upcoming 2026 i4 adds roughly 15 miles more range and a faster i4 M60 variant.
Lastly, the 2026 Lucid Air offers savings of up to $14,500—including $12,500 cash incentives and a $2,000 conquest bonus for owners of over 20 luxury-branded vehicles. Despite minor software and build issues, the Lucid Air provides luxurious interiors, exceptional range, and engaging driving dynamics, making it a compelling high-end EV option.
These Black Friday deals highlight manufacturers’ aggressive push to attract EV buyers with competitive pricing, financing, and incentives. Availability varies by region, so prospective buyers should verify local offers before purchase.
