Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road Sequel Confirmed as Level-5 Expands Franchise

Level-5 Inc. has confirmed that a sequel to Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road is officially in development, signaling a major expansion of the long-running anime soccer franchise. The announcement was made by Level-5 CEO and creative director Akihiro Hino during a recent livestream, where he revealed that the project has entered early pre-production.
According to Hino, the sequel’s storyline is already taking shape, with the narrative being written by him personally. While still in its early stages, the new installment will continue the story threads established at the conclusion of Victory Road, further expanding the game’s universe and character arcs.
Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road launched in November 2025 after a notably turbulent development cycle. Originally announced in 2016 as Inazuma Eleven Ares with a planned 2018 release, the project underwent a full reboot in 2022. Despite the setbacks, the final release proved to be a commercial success, selling more than 500,000 copies in its first week — a clear sign of the franchise’s enduring popularity.
Alongside the sequel, Level-5 is also developing a full remake of the original Inazuma Eleven, which first debuted on the Nintendo DS in 2008. The remake is scheduled for release in 2026 and aims to modernize the foundational entry for contemporary platforms while preserving the charm that helped establish the series.
The Inazuma Eleven franchise is best known for its distinctive fusion of soccer gameplay and role-playing mechanics, following Japanese youth teams competing at middle and high school levels. Over the years, it has grown into a multimedia phenomenon, spawning more than a dozen games, multiple anime series, and feature-length animated films.
With strong sales momentum, a sequel in the pipeline, and a remake on the horizon, Level-5 appears committed to revitalizing the brand for both longtime fans and a new generation of players. More details on the sequel’s release window and platforms are expected to emerge as development progresses.
