Emotional Reunion: The Nolans Announce Charity Concert Honoring Late Sister Linda

The acclaimed sister group, The Nolans, have announced an emotional reunion performance on October 4 at Sheffield City Hall. This significant event, titled 'Simply The Best', will serve as a fundraiser for Weston Park Cancer Charityand is dedicated to honouring their late sister, Linda, who sadly passed away in January 2025 following a prolonged battle with breast cancer, complicated by pneumonia.
Sisters Denise, Maureen, and Anne will take to the stage for their first public performance since Linda's passing. A deeply poignant moment of the concert will be their rendition of 'Tell Me It's Not True' from the musical Blood Brothers. This song holds profound family significance, as Maureen, Denise, and late sisters Bernie and Linda previously achieved a Guinness World Record for the most siblings to play the role of Mrs Johnstone in the Blood Brothers on London's West End. Anne expressed that performing this song for the first time with her sisters, knowing Bernie and Linda also performed it, will be an incredibly powerful experience.

The concert boasts a star-studded line-up including Strictly Come Dancing's Janette Manrara and Layton Williams, Dr Ranj, Sam Bailey, Hayley Tamaddon, Zoe Tyler, and Rustie Lee. The evening will culminate with the sisters singing their signature tune, 'I'm In The Mood For Dancing'. Notably, this will mark the first time Denise has ever performed the iconic song with the group, having left before its release in 1979. She shared her excitement, stating that performing it with her sisters for such a meaningful cause feels truly special.
Cancer has tragically impacted the Nolan family profoundly, with four of the sisters having previously battled the disease. This personal connection underscores Denise, Maureen, and Anne's commitment to raising funds for a vital cause. Linda, who passed away at 65, was remembered by her family for her indomitable spirit, cracking jokes and being her usual funny self, even in her final days surrounded by loved ones.
Following the fundraising concert, The Nolans, with Maureen, will appear at the Talking Pictures Festival of Film & TV Roadshow at the Hebden Bridge Picture House. This engagement will allow them to reflect upon and celebrate their extraordinary 50-year career in showbiz, acknowledging the unwavering support of their dedicated fans.
