During the hazardous rescue attempt, five officers were exposed to smoke and subsequently transported to a local hospital for smoke inhalation.
Authorities identified the alleged perpetrator as Robert Alston, the homeowner’s son. Alston was taken into custody and faces serious charges, including 2nd-degree arson, 2nd-degree burglary, and false personation.
