Davido Cleared by DNA Tests: Father Alleges Kemi Olunloyo Behind Paternity Scandal

The long-running paternity controversy involving Afrobeats superstar Davido and a young girl named Anuoluwapo has resurfaced following Anu’s social media appeal for another DNA test. Davido firmly rejected the request, citing five prior DNA tests over the years, all of which conclusively returned a 0.00% probability of paternity.
Davido’s father, Dr. Adedeji Adeleke, spoke at a Lagos press briefing, detailing the saga that began in 2014 when a formal letter from Ibadan alleged that Davido had impregnated a woman and abandoned the child. The correspondence included photographs, a birth certificate listing "Adeleke David" as the father, and a letter from the child’s grandmother requesting a DNA test for confirmation—not for financial or marital reasons.
Dr. Adeleke immediately intervened, coordinating DNA testing at Vedic Lifecare Hospital, with all relevant parties present. Saliva samples were analyzed in South Africa to ensure credibility. The initial results showed 0.00% probability of paternity. To eliminate any doubts, Dr. Adeleke facilitated additional confirmatory tests over time, covering logistics and accommodations, and even tested his nephew B-Red due to early speculation. All tests consistently confirmed that Davido was not the father.
Despite scientific clarity, the issue has repeatedly resurfaced, fueled by social media claims. Dr. Adeleke accused journalist Kemi Olunloyo of orchestrating a long-term campaign of impersonation and defamation, citing evidence that the child’s family had no control over the accounts spreading allegations. He stressed that documented DNA results, including all five tests conducted (three for Davido, two for B-Red), conclusively disproved paternity.
Over the years, the Adeleke family privately supported Anu and her mother, covering school fees and daily upkeep, even without Davido’s knowledge. Dr. Adeleke emphasized that if science had confirmed paternity, the child would have been welcomed into the family, noting their capacity to care for all 14 grandchildren.
The controversy persists, however, as Anu’s mother disputes the number and validity of tests, insisting only one 2014 test occurred and calling for an independent fresh test. Kemi Olunloyo has also circulated what she describes as verified test results from 2014, claiming long-standing advocacy for the child. Davido maintains that physical resemblance is irrelevant, and Dr. Adeleke warned that continued misinformation could lead to legal action while declining to publicly release DNA profiles due to security concerns.
