Country Queen Carrie Underwood Makes History As Highest RIAA-Certified Female Artist!

Carrie Underwood has achieved a monumental career milestone, officially becoming the highest Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA)-certified female country artist of all time. Her total certifications now exceed an impressive 95 million units within the United States, a figure that encompasses 22.5 million in album sales and 72.5 million in singles, accounting for both her solo work and collaborations. This extraordinary accomplishment solidifies her standing as a dominant force in the music industry.
Among Underwood's extensive list of RIAA certifications are several multi-platinum hits. Her debut album, 2005's "Some Hearts," is certified 9x Platinum. Her singles boast even higher honors, with "Before He Cheats" reaching an astounding 11x Platinum. Other notable certifications include "Blown Away" at 5x Platinum, "Cowboy Casanova" at 4x Platinum, and "All-American Girl" and "Church Bells" each at 3x Platinum. More recently, her collaboration with Cody Johnson, "I'm Gonna Love You," earned a Platinum certification, and her holiday song "Favorite Time of the Year," from her 2021 album "My Gift (Special Edition)," has been certified Gold.
Reflecting on this achievement, Underwood expressed profound gratitude, stating, "Accomplishments like this are more than I would have ever dared to dream of when I was starting out. I owe everything to the fans, who have literally voted for me from the beginning of my career and have showed up and given me so much love for over 20 years. I feel truly blessed." Mike Harris, president/CEO of MCA, echoed this sentiment, remarking on how this "monumental achievement solidifies Carrie Underwood’s legacy as a generational talent and a true titan of the music industry," and highlighting her unparalleled connection with fans and the enduring power of her artistry.
Beyond her RIAA success, Underwood's career is decorated with numerous other accolades. She is an eight-time Grammy Award winner, has earned 16 ACM Awards (including three Entertainer of the Year honors), 17 American Music Awards, and seven CMA Awards. Further demonstrating her consistent appeal, all ten of her studio albums have debuted within the top 10 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart, underscoring her sustained commercial and critical success.
