Britpop Backlash: Oasis Reunion Fuels Fan Fury, Ticketmaster Under Fire!

Andy Bell has confirmed his plans to rejoin Oasis for the band's highly anticipated reunion tour, which will include multiple dates in Scotland later this summer. Bell, who served as the band's bassist from 1999 to 2009 and also played in Liam Gallagher's post-Oasis project Beady Eye, is considered ideally suited to manage the dynamic between Liam and Noel Gallagher due to his extensive history with both. He publicly affirmed his involvement in an interview with Austrian newspaper Oe24, stating, “I’m in and I’m really looking forward to it. We’ll see each other on tour. Or rather, you’ll see me. I’ll hardly be able to see you in the audience.”
Bell is expected to be joined by other long-time collaborators for the live performances, including his Beady Eye bandmate Gem Archer, who also contributed to Bell’s recent solo album, Pinball Wanderer. Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs is rumored to be on guitar, and Joey Waronker is slated for drums. The tour is extensive, with Oasis having booked 41 dates for 2025. It will kick off at stadiums across the UK and Ireland in July before expanding across multiple continents. Support acts for the tour include Cast, Richard Ashcroft, Cage The Elephant, and Ball Park Music.
A significant portion of the tour includes three sold-out shows at the Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh on August 8, 9, and 12. The demand for tickets was immense, with an estimated 10 million people from over 100 countries attempting to purchase them, leading to record-breaking sell-out times.
However, fans should not anticipate new material or additional tour dates. Oasis manager Alec McKinlay has explicitly ruled out the release of new music by the band, stating, “This is very much the last time around, as Noel’s made clear in the press. It’s a chance for fans who haven’t seen the band to see them, or at least for some of them to.” He further clarified, “No, there’s no plan for any new music.” This statement from McKinlay contradicts earlier rumors sparked by Liam Gallagher's social media posts last year, where he claimed a new album was
