Beckham Family Drama: David & Victoria Rally Behind Son Cruz Amid Brooklyn Rift

David and Victoria Beckham are publicly showcasing their support for their youngest son, Cruz Beckham, amidst a strained family situation involving their eldest child, Brooklyn Beckham. On Friday, January 23, the celebrity parents enthusiastically promoted Cruz after he announced on Instagram that his band, The Breakers, would be embarking on a tour. Cruz expressed his excitement, stating, “It’ll be my dream to play you the music I’ve been working on,” as he shared his upcoming show dates with his followers.
Both David and Victoria were quick to offer their encouragement. The former Spice Girl commented, “We r all so proud of u Cruz,” while the football legend reposted the announcement to his Instagram Story, adding a string of pink heart emojis. Victoria further amplified the news on her own Story, reiterating, “So proud of you Cruz!!”
This display of family unity comes on the heels of Brooklyn Beckham’s recent confirmation of a deep-seated feud with his parents. After months of speculation, Brooklyn broke his silence earlier this week with a lengthy statement on his Instagram Story. In it, he accused his mother and father of “repeatedly” interfering in his marriage to actress Nicola Peltz.
Brooklyn asserted his independence, declaring, “I do not want to reconcile with my family,” and claiming, “I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.” Among his specific allegations, Brooklyn stated that his mother had danced “inappropriately” on him at his wedding and had abruptly canceled the design of his wife’s bridal gown at the last minute. He also accused David and Victoria of having “attempted to bribe [him] into signing away the rights to [his] name.”
Cruz, one of the four Beckham children alongside Romeo and Harper, has previously shown allegiance to his parents in matters concerning Brooklyn. When fans initially speculated that David and Victoria had unfollowed Brooklyn on Instagram, Cruz clarified in a post, “My mum and dad would never unfollow their son.. Let’s get the facts right. They woke up blocked… as did I.”
Neither David nor Victoria have directly addressed Brooklyn’s specific claims publicly. However, David did allude to the challenges of social media and parenting during a talk-show appearance shortly after Brooklyn’s statement. He remarked, “[Kids] make mistakes, but children are allowed to make mistakes. That is how they learn. That is what I try to teach my kids … You sometimes have to let them make those mistakes as well.”
