Atiku's Triumphs Rock ADC Presidential Primaries Across States!

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has consistently emerged as the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in multiple state-level primary elections, showcasing significant support across Nigeria. These victories are part of the ADC's nationwide process to select its flag bearer for the upcoming 2027 presidential election, with primary elections conducted peacefully and transparently across various states.
In Abia State, Atiku Abubakar secured a decisive victory in the ADC presidential primary election, polling 25,153 votes. He successfully defeated his closest rival, Rotimi Amaechi, who garnered 18,339 votes, and businessman Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, who received 3,264 votes. The results for Abia State were officially announced on Monday by the Returning Officer, Onyebuchi Chukwu, following a thorough collation of votes from numerous wards across the state. The Abia State Publicity Secretary of the ADC, Francess Olisa Ogbonnaya, lauded party members for their substantial participation and the peaceful, orderly, and transparent conduct of the primary election, which was also monitored by security agencies across several local government areas.
Continuing his strong performance, Atiku Abubakar also emerged as the winner of the ADC presidential primary election in Zamfara State. There, he polled an overwhelming 60,500 votes out of a total of 61,137 votes cast. The primary election in Zamfara was meticulously conducted across 147 wards in all 14 Local Government Areas of the state. Engr. Namadi Muhammad Musa, the Returning Officer for the ADC Presidential Primary Election Committee in Zamfara, announced the results in Gusau. He highlighted that out of 63,484 registered party members in Zamfara State, 61,137 actively participated. In Zamfara, Hayatu-Deen received 446 votes, while Rotimi Amaechi scored 191 votes. Musa affirmed that Atiku Abubakar, by scoring the highest votes, was duly declared the winner, praising the election for adhering to the ADC constitution and electoral guidelines, and for being peaceful and orderly.
Atiku Abubakar further solidified his lead by clinching the presidential candidacy in Sokoto State. He secured an impressive 68,823 votes, the highest number across the state's 23 Local Government Areas, out of a total of 69,434 votes cast. Prof. Aminu Abubakar, the Chief Returning Officer for the ADC presidential primary election in Sokoto State, made the announcement on Monday. In Sokoto, Rotimi Amaechi received 292 votes, and Alhaji Mohammed Hayatu-Deen secured 319 votes. The event in Sokoto was well-attended by prominent ADC leaders, including the state leader and former governor, Sen. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, the party’s governorship candidate, Alhaji Manir Dan-Iya, senatorial candidates Amb. Faruk Malami Yabo and Alhaji Mani Maishonko, and the state chairman Alhaji Abdullahi Maigwandu, among other party chieftains, underscoring the significance of these primary outcomes.
