Angolan Sonangol Ignites Futures with Over 300 Scholarships
The National Fuel Society (SONANGOL), Angola's state-owned oil company, has recently reaffirmed its strong commitment to fostering human capital development within the country. This commitment is evidenced by the successful award of a significant number of scholarships for the academic years 2024 and 2025, benefiting academically deserving young Angolans.
According to a press release made available to ANGOP in Luanda on Friday (12), SONANGOL has granted a total of 315 scholarships. This comprehensive program includes 200 internal scholarships, aimed at supporting students within Angola, alongside an additional 115 external scholarships, designed to provide opportunities for study abroad. These scholarships were specifically allocated to young Angolans who have consistently demonstrated recognized academic merit, highlighting the company's focus on nurturing talent and excellence.
The selection process for these scholarships was carried out through public tenders, which were held in both 2024 and 2025. The recent announcement of the results of these tenders underscores a transparent and merit-based approach to empowering the next generation of professionals. This initiative forms a crucial component of Sonangol's broader corporate social responsibility program, aligning its operational goals with national development objectives through strategic investments in education.
By providing these educational opportunities, SONANGOL aims to contribute significantly to the growth of a skilled workforce and the overall socio-economic advancement of Angola. The investment in these young individuals symbolizes Sonangol's dedication to creating a sustainable future for the nation by strengthening its educational foundations.
