Angola Set to Host Prestigious ITB Travel Fair in 2026!

Angola has officially confirmed its role as the third African nation to host the prestigious Berlin International Tourism Fair (ITB) in 2026.

The historic announcement was made during the ribbon-cutting ceremony that opened the world’s largest tourism showcase in Germany.

The ceremony was led by José de Lima Massano, Angola’s Minister of State for Economic Coordination, alongside Marcio Daniel, the Minister of Tourism, with members of the German government and representatives of Messe Berlin also in attendance.

The moment drew strong international attention, with global tour operators and journalists gathering at the Angolan pavilion.

Visitors were particularly captivated by traditional music and dance performed by the Angolan cultural group Nova Energia.

Despite winter temperatures dropping to around three degrees Celsius, the cold did little to discourage tourists, many of whom visited the Angolan stand to interact with tourism operators and government officials.

The event marks a new chapter for Angola’s presence on the global tourism stage, coinciding with the fair’s 60th anniversary and symbolically featuring the red, black, and yellow colors of the Angolan flag.

Under the slogan “Visit Angola – The Rhythm of Life,” the country’s return to ITB also marks eleven years since its last official participation in 2015.

Organized by Messe Berlin, the current edition of the fair brings together more than 5,000 exhibitors from over 170 countries.

This year’s theme, “Discover the stories behind 60 years of legacy,” highlights the evolution of ITB Berlin from a modest gathering into a major global hub for tourism professionals.

With discussions centered on digitalization, sustainability, artificial intelligence, and the future of travel.
