Amorim's United Delivers Stunning Title Statement with Dominant Win!
)
Manchester United recorded their third consecutive Premier League victory, securing a convincing 4-2 win over Brighton at Old Trafford. This significant result signals a positive shift under manager Ruben Amorim, as the team achieved three successive league wins for the first time since his tenure began. While Brighton's defense appeared vulnerable, United efficiently capitalized on their chances, appearing as the more dangerous side, especially during the initial phases of the match.
The deadlock was broken around the half-hour mark by summer signing Matheus Cunha, who curled a beautiful shot home after Brighton's defenders were caught out of position. United’s lead was then extended following a defensive error from Brighton. Jan Paul van Hecke's loose pass in his own half was aggressively pounced upon by Luke Shaw, whose intervention led to Casemiro receiving the ball. Casemiro’s powerful 25-yard strike took a deflection off Yasin Ayari, leaving goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen stranded as it rolled into the net.
In the second half, United continued to demonstrate their attacking prowess. Their third goal, though met with controversy due to Brighton’s claims of a foul in the build-up, was emphatically struck home by Bryan Mbeumo from the edge of the area. Brighton, however, managed to pull one back when former Red Danny Welbeck stepped up and curled an exquisite effort into the top corner. The visitors then further narrowed the gap to 3-2 in stoppage time, with Charalampos Kostoulas heading home James Milner’s corner, setting up a dramatic conclusion. Despite this late surge, Hürzeler’s men were unable to find an elusive equalizer. Manchester United ultimately sealed their third league win in a row under Amorim in style, as Bryan Mbeumo scored his second goal of the match, adding a fourth for United in the dying moments.
