Amazon is now extending its advanced AI shopping technology to other retail businesses through a new offering called the Agentic Shopping Assistant, built on Amazon Web Services (AWS). This service empowers retailers to develop customized AI shopping assistants for their own websites and applications. Amazon emphasizes that each deployment can be meticulously tailored to a retailer's specific product catalog, customer base, shopping environment, and brand voice, leveraging technology initially developed for Amazon's proprietary online store.

The package includes comprehensive architecture guidance, starter code, and incorporates valuable insights gleaned from Alexa for Shopping. Amazon reported significant success with its internal AI shopping assistant, noting that over 300 million customers utilized it last year, generating nearly US$12 billion in incremental sales during the same period. The company highlights that this new service dramatically reduces deployment time, allowing retailers to implement conversational agents within weeks, a process that could otherwise take years if built from the ground up.
