Adekunle Gold Honored with Plaque for Historic Sold-Out National Theatre Show

Nigerian music sensation Adekunle Gold has achieved a significant milestone, becoming the first artist to officially sell out the newly renovated National Theatre, now known as the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts. This historic accomplishment was recognized with a commemorative plaque presented to the artist after his highly anticipated “Greatest Show Yet” concert on December 26, 2025. The event saw the 3,560-capacity venue completely filled, marking a monumental moment for both Adekunle Gold and the iconic Lagos landmark.
The concert itself was a grand spectacle, offering the enthusiastic Lagos crowd a comprehensive showcase of Adekunle Gold’s extensive discography. Fans were treated to performances from all six of his albums, including tracks from his latest release, “Fuji.” The musical experience was elevated by the collaboration with a 55-piece MUSON Orchestra and Adekunle Gold’s own band, The 79th Element. This unique blend of orchestral grandeur and vibrant live instrumentation provided attendees with a rich, immersive, and truly memorable experience.
Following the resounding success of the concert, Adekunle Gold took to social media to express his gratitude and excitement. He shared his appreciation with his fans, stating, “Thank you all for a great end to 2025.” Looking ahead, the artist also teased his upcoming plans, indicating that North America is next on his tour schedule and inviting fans to suggest locations where he should bring his captivating “Fuji” experience.
