50 Cent Jubilant Over Diddy Documentary's 3 Emmy Nominations: 'You Can't Argue With The Work!'
50 Cent is celebrating three Emmy nominations for his Netflix documentary, "Sean Combs: The Reckoning," despite initial skepticism about the project. The docuseries, which explores Diddy's career and legal issues, has been a significant talking point since its release. Meanwhile, 50 Cent is also preparing for the premiere of his new boxing drama, "Fightland."
Rapper and producer 50 Cent recently celebrated a significant achievement, receiving three Emmy nominations on Wednesday, July 8. These nominations were for his work producing the Netflix documentary, "Sean Combs: The Reckoning," which focuses on Diddy. Expressing his triumph on Instagram, 50 Cent boasted, "Everybody had something to say when I announced it… now the Emmys got something to say too. 3 Emmy nominations for Sean Combs: The Reckoning. You can’t argue with the work."
The docuseries garnered nominations in prominent categories, including outstanding documentary or nonfiction series, outstanding directing for a documentary/nonfiction program, and outstanding picture editing for a nonfiction program. Following the announcement, the G-Unit boss received an outpouring of support, notably from Busta Rhymes, who commented, "Congrats & Happy Belated Born Day King."
When 50 Cent first revealed his plans for a Diddy docuseries in 2024, many dismissed it as typical trolling. However, these doubts were dispelled with the release of "The Reckoning" in December 2025. The four-part series immediately ignited widespread conversation, detailing the rise and eventual fall of the Bad Boy mogul. It also delved deeply into the history of Combs’ alleged sexual abuse, which was connected to his federal sex trafficking case.
Upon the docuseries' release, 50 Cent issued a statement emphasizing his dedication to authentic storytelling. "I’ve been committed to real storytelling for years through G-Unit Film and Television," he stated. He also expressed gratitude to "everyone who came forward and trusted us with their stories" and pride in Alexandria Stapleton, the director, for bringing "this important story to the screen."
In related news, Diddy was sentenced to 50 months behind bars in October 2025 for violating federal prostitution laws. He managed to avoid more severe charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering. Looking ahead, 50 Cent’s G-Unit Film and Television empire is currently in promotional mode for its upcoming boxing crime drama, "Fightland," set to premiere on Starz on July 31. The Queens legend has high hopes for the series, promising it will be another success akin to "Power."
