Young couple jumps before moving train, dies
Varanasi: A young couple from Prayagraj took their lives by jumping in front of a train near Chaderu Chowktha in Mirzapur district on Friday night. Surprisingly, their families had reportedly given their relationship their blessing, leaving them shocked by the couple's desperate act. Initial investigations suggested that Shubham Sonkar (23) and Anjali (20) committed suicide due to a personal dispute. Further investigation is in progress, said Mirzapur SP Somen Barma.According to the initial police findings, Shubham from Mahevakala village and Anjali had a long-term relationship and were living together in Delhi since May 13. Sonkar's father stated that his son visited home on July 6 and left for Delhi again on Friday evening, taking travel money from his brother. The couple instead headed to Chaderu Chowktha, where they tragically lay down on the railway tracks and were hit by a train around 11 pm. The loco pilot alerted the station master, and locals also witnessed the incident, prompting the police to be called to the scene.Anjali and Shubham's families are shocked by their extreme decision, as they had been living together without any objection from them. Shubham, who worked a private job in Delhi and was also pursuing ITI, was the second of three brothers, while Anjali was the third of two brothers and four sisters. Notably, Anjali lived the the neighbouring Chakdiha village, but Shubham's family was unaware of his address.
