WWE introduces major creative change to accommodate Goldberg’s return

Bill Goldberg is one of the most celebrated wrestlers and a legendary figure in WWE, who is all set to hang up his boots in 2025, and it is speculated that the wrestling icon is soon to make an appearance on WWE.

Earlier, Goldberg confirmed that 2025 is going to be his last year in WWE.His name is now being floated around internally in WWE, fuelling speculation that the Hall of Famer could be gearing up for a return, which will also include Gunther in the same event. After much speculation and discussion, it has come to light that Goldberg will finally appear on television in one of the upcoming editions of WWE RAW. Bill Goldberg in an interview revealed his retirement plans, saying, "You know, 2025 Goldberg makes his uh return, retirement, yeah.

I got a couple of months to get ready, you know, no date, no time, so we'll see, stay tuned.” Now, it seems the day is no more far when we can see the WWE Hall of Famer spring into action soon.

Goldberg is finally going to make his WWE return soon before his last retirement bout. The WWE Hall of Famer, who is ready to say goodbye to the WWE ring, is scheduled to return on the June 16 edition of Monday Night Raw in Green Bay. setting the stage for a major match on the July 12 Saturday Night’s Main Event, airing on NBC.

As part of this shift, Triple H has reportedly set up Gunther to claim the title from Uso at the June 9 Raw taping, ensuring Goldberg challenges directly for the championship rather than appearing in a non-title bout.

Dave Meltzer specifically wrote the following about WWE: “It was confirmed to us the reason this happened is because Paul Levesque made the call to make Gunther vs. Bill Goldberg on 7/12’s Saturday Night’s Main Event a title match, likely since it was going on the same day as All In Texas.”He further added, “Gunther vs. Goldberg was always going to be the retirement match, and it was always going against All in Texas and on NBC, with the idea of maximizing that day with the big match not on Netflix but on free network TV.”

Previously, Goldberg was set to appear on the June 9, 2025, edition of WWE RAW, which emanated live from Atlanta.
