Women town planners engage students on career awareness
The Association of Women Town Planners in Nigeria (AWTPN), Lagos State Chapter, under the leadership of Yemisi Alaka and her Executive Committee recently on Thursday held its awareness, advocacy, and sensitisation programme on Thursday in Lagos.
The focus was to engage students through a career talk with the aim of introducing them to the planning profession and enlightening them on its critical role in building sustainable cities.
This outreach was designed to inspire interest among young learners and to popularise the planning profession among the future generation.
“The Lagos Chapter believes that early exposure to the relevance and opportunities in Urban and Regional Planning will contribute to cultivating future professionals who are passionate about shaping livable environments.
This programme formed a key part of the chapter’s broader commitment to advocacy, professional visibility, and mentorship.
