Wizkid Shocks Fans: Joins Gunna for Epic Detty December Fest Performance!

Afrobeats superstar Wizkid delivered one of the most memorable moments of the Detty December Fest by making an unannounced appearance at American rapper Gunna’s headline show. The surprise performance took place on Monday night at Ilubirin, Ikoyi, captivating the audience with an unexpected collaboration.
Midway through Gunna’s set, the beat dramatically shifted to their collaborative track, “Forever Be Mine.” To thunderous cheers from the crowd, Wizkid walked onto the stage to join Gunna for a brief, yet impactful, live rendition of the song. Both artists, dressed in matching black attire, shared a quick embrace before diving into the performance. Wizkid passionately delivered his verse as the audience sang along, while Gunna skillfully kept the energy high. Following their powerful performance, Gunna acknowledged the collaboration, instructing the crowd to “Make some noise for my brother Wizkid!”
“Forever Be Mine” is featured on Gunna’s 2025 album, “The Last Wun.” This marked only the second time the song was performed live, with its debut occurring at Afro+ Fest in Washington, D.C., back in September. The Lagos concert was a key stop on Gunna’s “Wun World Tour,” where he concluded the night as the headlining act. Other notable performers earlier in the festival included Jamaican dancehall star Shenseea, as well as Nigerian singers Fave and Tiwa Savage.
Wizkid’s appearance at Gunna’s show capped off an exceptionally busy Detty December for the star. His engagements during the festive period also included a massively successful sold-out concert on December 28, which garnered widespread acclaim from fellow artists, including Olamide.
